Even Accuweathers Joe Bastardi agrees this kind of winter event does not usually happen... The current situation we are looking at is pretty much the kind of situations you'd see 30-50+ years ago... In fact this kind of event is becoming un heard of... If I had to make my best guess I would say today marks the halfway point in our 2009-2010 winter season, which is pretty scarey. I would not be suprised if this winter lasted into April for a lot of people... Yes, Joe Bastardi predicted this winter fairly well but, I think he was even shocked by it... So we know of at least 2 or 3 potentially major snow storms to hit the southern areas of the U.S.... With that said, lets get started..,
This is a WARNING for the following areas: Amarillo, Dallas, Oklahoma city, Little Rock, Montgomery, Birmingham, Atlanta, Raliegh, Memphis, DC, Baltimore, Philly, NYC, Chicago, Indianapolis, Cinncinatti, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Scranton, Boston, Portland, Bangor, Caribou, Burlington, Syracuse, Albany, Buffalo, and any areas nearby those cities... I would like to officially warn you because everything that those cities have experienced so far this winter, they will likely experience again for the rest of februrary and into march... Now that is with the exception of Raliegh, D.C., Baltimore, and Philly... Their warning is for something else... Their warning is for Flooding and Ice... The track for the rest of the winter seems to be more to the north, so yes they may see some snow but it looks like a lot of rain and ice is in store on top of the 2-4 feet of snow already on the ground... This may mean travel delays, School closures, and much more complication(this is when it ices)... They also will experience flooding(this is when it rains) For the rest of you a lot of snow and Ice and the same old same old will be in store... Take this warning as a gift and act now!
