-Enjoy the last day of March!!! And remember... April showers bring May flowers!!!!
Part 1:
Well, quite a day yesterday... Actually the past 2 days... I think my rainfall forecast for the most part was pretty accurate... The reason i say, for the most part, is because all the forecasts called for locally 6 inches, or in other words, at most 6 inches... I was the odd one out, like usual, and said 8 inches of rain at most... Some places in and around Rhode Island actually picked up close to 9 inches of rain!!!! Also, if i were to draw it again, i probably would have cut it in half, and not have included CT, NY, and NJ... It's fairly obvious that Rhode Island got hit the hardest with road closures, school cancellations, widespread power outages, and widespread evacuations... Lots and lots of damage hit the area with rain that fell for a full 48 hours straight!!!! Although there was a lot of flooding and rain in CT, NY, and NJ, it was fortunately much less intense and damaging then the 13th 14th storm that hit nearly 3 weeks ago... Unfortunately these flooded rivers are going to take a long to to finally go back to there normal height, so we will continue to have flooding problems over the next 36-48+ hours...
Part 2: Well yes, for the meteorologist and weather nuts, it will be a very boring couple of days and maybe weeks weather wise... Starting tomorrow, south of I-80 is likely to hit 70, and even to the north we'll find anywhere from the upper 50's to the upper 60's... Sunshine, sunshine, and more sunshine will accompany this warm weather as well as calm winds... So whats causing this? Well it's the southwesterly winds that are now developing which will only make things warmer... Actually, something interesting, when there is a breeze which won't really happen over the next couple of days, the breeze will actually be warm... So instead of feeling cool when a breeze comes, you will actually feel warmer... The sun and temperatures around 65(interior sections) to 75 (Areas south of I-80) will last all the way until Sunday... Sunday it looks like the sun will start to hide behind the clouds, and the there is the possibility for a couple showers late Sunday and into Monday where a cold front will come through... If you are in the 70's on Sunday, by Monday it is likely you will be in the 60's... Then a slow warm up should take place again, and by time we get into late next week and next weekend temps should be back up into the 70's again...
Part 3: Well, the Westport district was pretty much slammed with heavy rain and even some gusty winds over the past 48-60 hours... Luckily it was no where near the storm we had 3 weeks ago which pretty much shut down Westport... Expect much improving conditions over the next couple of days with the saugatuck river slowly receding back to its normal height, and hopefully basements being pumped out... And it shouldn't be a problem over the next couple of days since temps will be way up into the 60's and we may even hit 70 by Friday... So get out there and enjoy the southwesterly breeze!!!! That's it for now... You should all check out the Photo and Video section because everything was filmed in Westport, CT...
Part 4:
Just wanted to let you know that the river that you are seeing is the end part of the Saugatuck river, which is usually just a small river or some might even call it a stream... So the trees you see in the water, should NOT be there...
This was a stream of water, barely visible from the road before, but it was certainly visible yesterday...
This was also a stream of water... Well not anymore...
Hope you enjoyed...
