Wild about Weather is a blog for anyone who is interested in the weather and lives in the Northeastern US. Typically on the page we focus on the Northeast weather, but from time to time we will take a look at other areas around the country and even around the world. This blog covers all four seasons, and has accurate forecasts based off all the latest weather models, forecasts, and various patterns. The page is constantly updated during storms, and regularly updated during quieter patterns.

Models go crazy... Most are forgetting it is still Winter!!!! Flooding rains get closer... Warmth continues, but for how long?...
Weather Forecast:
Part 1: Warmth Continues...
Part 2: 11 days left of winter... Plus the 17th storm!!!!... (must see)
Part 3: Models are wacky!!!!
Part 4: Rainstorms and flooding on the way...
Part 5: Winter to Spring... Blog changes...
Part 6: Westport Weather
Part 1:
Well the warmth continues... Today areas North of I-80 were back up into the Upper 40's and 50's and South of I-80 Mid and Upper 50's warmed most of the area... So more of the usual and I'm sure you are all getting used to the warmth by now... Well i can tell you it is going to very slowly get cooler and cooler... And by Monday we could be talking about most areas getting back into the 40's... Still not shivering cold, just a bit annoying... Sadly the latest models all point to a bit of a dramatic cool down after Monday... Now this is where it gets confusing... Accuweather and Weather.com all point to the opposite of the models (for more on the models fight against Accuweather and Weather.com look in part 3)... That's it for now on the warmth... More updates on the warmth as Spring approaches... Stay tuned for more!!!!...
Accuweather.com...
Part 2:
Believe it or not, only 11 days left of winter!!!! Right?... Well now is when it gets kind of complicated because we move into warmer weather, but we still get cold and snowy weather in spring... So that's exactly what this part is going to be about... Typically around this time of year we begin to find these wet and warm snowstorms... And now, looking at the GFS, we are finding signs of some wet snowstorms coming into our area... For the first time I'm going to talk about another section of the U.S. that isn't the Northeast... And that's the Midwest... It seems this is where these wet snowstorms are going to begin...
The models have been consistent with showing wet snowstorms lately in the Midwest, and some show snow and cold pretty far south (for more on the wacky models go to part 3)... Anyway there is one storm in particular that may even end up affecting the Northeast, and that's the 17th storm!!!! The storm that i have been talking about for weeks now!!!! But for the Midwest it will be more like the 13th and 14th snowstorm... Models are showing just some light wet snow for parts of the Midwest for a storm that will probably start out as rain for most of them... Now when the storm moves to the Northeast, we could find more wet snow... Also i should mention it will be more of a 16th storm than 17th... Right now it also looks like some light wet snow but that may change... For example... The 120 hour GFS is showing some light wet snow, while the 384 hour GFS shows more of a heavy wet snowstorm for DC, Philly, and NYC... So the 17th (now 16th) storm is still on the "worry list" and it will be something I will have to continue to watch, and as always, i will be sure to keep you updated...
Part 3:
Yes, the models have gone absolutely crazy... Or is it really just Accuweather.com and Weather.com... Well my hometown is Westport, CT, and in the Long Range on Weather.com it shows 49 degrees and sunny on the 16th and 17th when the models show a cold snowstorm... Now this could change, maybe they will catch there mistakes... But i honestly don't know what to make of this... For now I'm going to trust the scary models... And i'm going to show you them right now, off the Penn State E-Wall... Please click on them cause it will be impossible to see...
You can see even these models don't agree with each other!!!! Try to focus more on the first one, that one shows the storm the best... I also want to show you a wacky storm around the 21st of March...
Try to focus on the second one, that shows the storm the best... You can see it looks like a pretty well rounded snowstorm... Now the last model i am going to show you is around the 17th where the models all show this really cold air... Even diving to FL!!! Neither Accuweather or Weather.com show any of this... No snow and No cold... But here it is...
That's it for now... After a really confusing day with the models, i am not sure really what to say... All i can say for sure is we will definitly have to keep an eye on this situation...
Part 4:
The rainstorms and flooding are on there way all across the Northeast!!!! It seems a lot of the rain will be heavy and if you are currently looking outside, and you see snow... You should know now that there is a good chance of having flooding problems over the next couple of days... I am not going to go into to much detail on the subject, but just know that is is going to be a nasty couple of days anywhere in the Northeast... For Most people the rain should hold off until Thursday but you will at least notice an increase in clouds tomorrow... Friday looks rainy and Saturday should be the worst of the rain with some heavy at times even with wind... This is going to be as the low gets closer... There still is the chance some of this becomes severe but that will likely happen the further south you go... Sunday and Monday look to be more of the same with rain and clouds... But.... By Tuesday we may actually clear out... After that it is unclear what happens but if you would really like to know you can go back and read part 2 and 3... Well that is it for now... Try to enjoy the rain!!!!...
Part 5:
Well this part is pretty much what you can expect from the blog as we transition from Winter to Spring... Hurricane season is getting closer and closer and when the time comes for Hurricanes there is likely to be a lot of changes... A lot of storm tracking will be going... In case you did not know, the two types of weather that i try to focus on are the Winter Snowstorms and the Hurricanes... Also a transition you can expect is for you folks down south across the gulf and Florida!!!! I will begin to be talking more and more about you as the severe weather season approaches and as Hurricane season comes... So this is just a little heads up on my forecasts... When Summer comes we may have a problem because i will have no access to any real technology for 7 weeks!!!! So i am not yet sure what I am going to do!!!! Well that's it from here... Enjoy the Weather!!!!
Part 6:
Westport!!!! This is luckily the final part of my blog and it will be just a quick update... Again today we got close to 60 reaching a high of about 58... Tomorrow we will cool off a little especially as some clouds begin to role in... Expect a high of about 55... For Thursday much of the same temperature wise, but the clouds will really role in and as we head toward sunset don't be surprised if you get some sprinkles... Friday it will be cool and wet and Saturday seems to be the worst of the whole Rain even with rain possibly heavy and windy!!! By Sunday we are still in the rain but it should be lighter and same goes to Monday as we begin to finally get back into the upper 40's... After that it remains a mystery for weather, but if you would like to see the long range part 2,3,4 and even 5 will have more information on that... That's it for now.... Enjoy the Weather...
